When the rough monsoon season hits the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, most of its lovely beaches are off limits to holidaymakers. So, if you’re really planning a beach holiday with your family there couldn’t be a better time to enjoy pristine sandy beaches and splashing fun than during the middle of the year. While the time is still good, here a some of the famous and serene beaches that will keep you going.

PANTAI CAHAYA BULAN (MOONLIGHT BEACH)

It is being newly renamed from its previously popular Pantai Cinta Berahi (Beach of Passionate Love). You can choose to relax under swaying coconut trees while sipping refreshing juice from a tender coconut. You could also visit some of the cottage industry outlets where here you have the chance to pick up batik souvenirs. There are recently enough chalets around if you are planning on an overnight stay.

PANTAI SERI TUJUH (BEACH OF SEVEN LAGOONS)

This beach is under the shelter of the longest lagoon in Malaysia. It’s conveniently located in the Tumpat district, barely close to the Thai border and is home to the annual Kelantan International Kite Festival event which successfully draws more than over a hundred local and foreign participants.

PANTAI SABAK (SABAK BEACH)

This is the only place to be if you are very much into the fishing boats. While enjoying the sea breeze you could also picnic with your family and let the kids have fun on the sand. The soothing sound of the waves can even calm your way long enough to a refreshing nap.

PANTAI IRAMA (MELODY BEACH)

This beach is conveniently situated 30 kilometers away from Kota Bharu in Bachok.  You will be spoilt for choice especially when it comes to food. Pantai Irama has the first class reputation of being one of the finest beaches here in the East Coast. It’s another beach that is ideal for a memorable family outing with ample picnic spots that is to die for.

PANTAI BISIKAN BAYU (BEACH OF THE WHISPERING BEACH)

This beach is basically the pride of the Pasir Putih district. The whisper of the breeze blowing through the casuarina trees can be upright simply mesmerizing. Wind surfers may find this beach to be much to their liking.
