From having just 2 planes in 2001, it is a proud Malaysian moment for AirAsia to celebrate their biggest milestone for flying over 500 million guests to date.

It is no surprise as AirAsia has constantly been offering affordable flights to over 120 destinations worldwide with its various subsidiaries like AirAsia X. Presently, AirAsia has more than 180 daily, flying a diversified community of different nationalities.

Reaching half a billion guests in a span of 16 years is worth the celebration for a relatively new airline. Well, considering that 500 million people actually makes up about 80 percent of the whole Asean population. [Source: Statista]

Leading Asean Airline
Prior to this achievement, AirAsia has won World’s Best Low-Cost Airline at Skytrax World Airline Awards every year since 2009. Collectively, this brand has introduced many selected destinations around Asia that developed it into a major international hub. The airline’s latest new destination is Hua Hin in Thailand.
